Notes of DNA Appraiser Sets November 1 Premiere on Youku
Youku's drama Notes of DNA Appraiser, led by Zhang Huiwen and Yue Lina, premieres on November 1.
01Premiere Date Confirmed
Youku has set November 1 as the premiere date for Notes of DNA Appraiser. The platform announced the date in a new trailer posted on its official YouTube channels on October 30, with English subtitles on the international upload.
02Life Inside a Paternity-Testing Centre
According to Youku's official synopsis, Zhang Huiwen plays Xu Ziqi, a newcomer to the job of DNA paternity appraiser. Under the guidance of Mo Li, the director of the Xinnuo testing centre played by Yue Lina, and together with the passionate young Zhu Xinchen, played by He Peng, she faces one case after another. Each test uncovers a different truth about the people who come through the door.
The trailer frames the series around a simple idea: science can establish who is related by blood, but it cannot measure everything that sits in the human heart. Youku's second trailer adds that the show offers no black-and-white answers, only the many sides of people and the weight of real life.
03Cast
Besides the three leads, the official cast list includes Ma Yue, Wang Yuanke, Niu Baojun, Chen Chuang and Kou Zhenhai. Youku labels the drama as an urban story and as a suspense mystery, and international viewers are pointed to the Youku app and website.
